One of the most fundamental representatives of constructivism and concrete art in Central Europe. In cooperation with the Albatros publishing house, he also devoted himself to illustrating children's books for more than ten years, and during the 1960s he became famous as a designer of several cult movie posters and book covers. In the early 1960s, he was also significantly influenced by lettrism, which gave rise to a huge number of photographs, illustrations and, above all, graphic work, thanks to which he became a laureate of the Vladimír Boudník Prize in 1999. His work was remarkably concurrent with the tendencies of the international scene. Like other representatives of constructive-concrete art, Kubíček is still more popular in Switzerland, the Netherlands and especially in Germany.
