In 1987, he joined the artistic group 12/15 Late, but still. During the time when Jiří Sopko worked at the AVU as the head of the Malba I studio, a number of painters passed through this studio and subsequently established themselves on the art scene. They include, for example: Filip Černý, Dalibor David, Jaroslav Fritsch, Petr Gruber, Alice Nikitinová, David Pešat, Miroslav Polách, Jan Poupě, Zbyněk Sedlecký, Jakub Sýkora, Robert Šalanda, Jakub Tomáš, Vladimír Véla. He is primarily a painter, but also works in graphics and sculpture. It is included in the Czech grotesque. His paintings are characterized by their characteristic color, the use of acrylic paints. The works feature nude, unrealistic figures with slender, elongated limbs, often recurring motifs of heads with expressive grimaces.
