Karel Chaba was self-taught. He organized his first exhibition in 1960 in Prague's Theater D 34, today's E.F. Burian Theatre. Since then, he has exhibited regularly both in Prague and in many other cities of the Czech Republic. His work was also presented in foreign galleries. Exhibitions were held, for example, in France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Egypt or Poland. In his original work, Karel Chaba was mainly focused on painting Prague motifs. In addition to free creation, he was also realized in the social and cultural life of Prague. In 1993, he designed the stage design for the opera Jakobín by Antonín Dvořák, staged at the National Theater in Prague.
